Swiss guitarist Cep has melded his two great passions - heavy metal and cows - to create the one-of-a-kind POWERHILL.
Dubbing it “Farm Metal”, Powerhill is a band of head-banging peasants delivering a brew of classic hard rock, hair metal, and sleaze rock.
Cep found the inspiration for Powerhill in a dark and dirty stable in Taverne, Switzerland, which became a rehearsal space as he wrote music and formed his band. Debut single “New Dimension” found its way onto the “Heavy Metal Nation III” compilation in 2006, and Powerhill’s unique live show caught on in a country that claims a strong hard rock-metal legacy (Gotthard, Krokus, and Killer). Despite the good momentum, a forced hiatus shut the peasants down.
The determined Cep finally regrouped in 2018, again finding audiences for his band’s performances. Self-produced singles “Mad Cow City” and “Powerhill” dropped in 2019; post-lockdown releases then included “Covid-20 - Pandemic on the Farm” and “You’re Hated…”.
Powerhill powers on, releasing the Bunnies and Eggs EP in 2022 and new tracks “Daily Job” and “I Can Wait for You” in 2023. The band’s lineup has evolved to include their first frontwoman, Veronica Torre, and the crowd-favorite cow mascot, Clotilde, joining Cep and his hard rock peasants for unforgettable concerts with timeless hard rock anthems.
The year 2025 sees the release of the album “Generation X”, which was preceded by the release of the singles “Powerhill”, “Generation X”, and “My Mood”. This album also features a special guest appearance by Jörg Michael on drums, under the supervision of producer Cep.

The stage is set for Clotilde and full throttle for “Generation X”, the debut album from the quirkiest Rock band in the Swiss Alps! POWERHILL galloped at full speed through the Alpine prairie, led by the one and only Clotilde, already a true icon in her denim vest and striking rocker pose. In recent weeks, the Swiss Hard Rockers have kicked off the loudest ‘Farm Metal’ party of the year with three striking singles from their mixtape, the rebellious anthem “Powerhill”, the explosive title track “Generation X”, and the heartfelt power ballad “My Mood” and are creating quite a buzz with their unique ‘Farm Metal’, which is explosive, rousing, and full of humor and is stirring up the rural idyll. Therefore, the band’s visually stunning single artworks and creative videos have effectively captured the essence of their ‘Farm Metal’ spirit. Together with their iconic cow mascot, they deliver the full package, powered by barnyard energy, ’80s nostalgia, and a hefty dose of hooks and are now cranking up the volume to eleven with their brand-new album “Generation X”, released via Dr. Music Records. The musicians from Taverne carved out their very own tongue-in-cheek genre that is now being unleashed with full force and spiced with a pinch of country air on fans, rockin’ the wild Alpine prairie. Led by vocalist Veronica Torre and accompanied by thunderous riffs and high-energy drumming from Clotilde, the musicians blend powerful melodies with a hefty dose of humor. With their debut album, the band around guitarist, mastermind, and producer ‘Cep’ Ceppi proves that Metal and farmyard charm can be a surprisingly explosive mixture. Driven by Luca ‘Chewbe’ Gentile’s grooving basslines and featuring drum legend Jörg Michael (i.a. Stratovarius, Running Wild, Axel Rudi Pell) behind the kit, the album’s ten diverse songs inspire with catchy anthems and humorous accents and show POWERHILL at the peak of their creative powers. Recorded and mixed at Stairway Studio under the supervision of Stefano Scenini, “Generation X” was mastered by George Nerantzis (i.a. Gus G., Pain Of Salvation, Nightrage). Thanks to graphic designer Thomas Ewerhard (i.a. Avantasia, Gotthard, Jon Oliva’s Pain), the most iconic cow in Hard Rock has now received the perfect visual branding. Clotilde proudly takes center stage on the album cover with her stunning presence, posing in a glowing ’80s-inspired cityscape with neon nostalgia, ready to rock the next club. Clotilde finally discovers nightlife, and anyone who thought cows couldn’t headbang is now proven wrong. Join Clotilde now on her wild joyride through the nightlife on her tractor and get electrified by the album trailer and its retro-futuristic ’80s vibes straight from the alpine pasture: Album Trailer.
